It's been a while since posting a studio photo... so I thought I should share a photo with a little more insight about my art practice.

Abstraction for me, is a response to an interaction, a place or an experience. My work responds to my surroundings & experiences in life. I like to evaluate different interactions, situations & environments to share these experiences & emotions. When you strip away the complexity & take a deep breath, what are you left with? I want to convey the energy of that moment.

As a colourfield artist I work with colour, form & scale to structure a dialogue. Through my process of pouring paint I am forced to slow down, to take a step back, to allow each layer to connect & flow. There is a relationship to what lays before & what comes next, working with surface, transparencies, opacities & pigments to balance the tension the energy in each piece.

Ultimately, I aim to create a moment in time, to evoke curiosity whilst commanding your attention, to pause – to be in that present moment.

Take a minute to enjoy the installation photos ✨

Fields of colour all around us, stretching out to the edges. The light in the sky, changing seasons with paintings everywhere we look. A world made up of colour and gesture, everything is a painting. These pieces fluctuate between the edge, border, the peripheries and the wonderful immersive experience and depth of the centre.

It was lovely to visit Robertson over the weekend

It was lovely to visit Robertson over the weekend to enjoy the group show. It’s quite amazing for there to be snow in the Southern Highlands in May!

It’s a beautiful time of year to visit the region with many great places to visit. I recommend a pub lunch by the fire!

Head down for the weekend or a day trip. Enjoy the show.

2023 is going to be a big year!! It’s been a w

2023 is going to be a big year!!

It’s been a while between post… it’s been a slow process building a house last year but we finally moved in the week before Christmas!

The art studio site works have been prepared & we’re expecting the studio shed to be up in approx 6-8 weeks 🤗 I’ll share updates as things progress!

I’m currently working on two commissions & five works for a group show in may. I’m working from my garage which has been tricky in the middle of a heatwave!
