Large shapes at play

Large shapes at play

A playful body of work driven by the application of acrylic paint and mediums, to create spacial perspective, movement and energy.
The process behind the application of layers, working with transparencies, opacities, colour and form, allows each piece to develop individually, still reflecting characteristics from the series. The subject is the relationship between each layer, creating spacial tension between surface and shape. Each piece of work encourages you to pause – viewing the piece as a whole, engaging with the flow of colour, shape and form.
Often described as an alternate reality, my work offers pause – a space half way between thought and place, where there is time to ponder. I am drawn to abstract work for the endless possibilities of where a piece of work can go and for the many places and interpretations by each viewer.
